Wisefly Auto Glass Named Auto Glass Replacement Winner at Auto Glass Week 2026
Wisefly Auto Glass Technician Wins Gold at Auto Glass Week 2026
Wisefly Auto Glass Lead Technician & Trainer Tucker Martin won the gold medal in the 2026 Auto Glass Week Auto Glass Technician Competition. The international event brings leading auto glass professionals together to demonstrate their knowledge, precision, safety practices, and installation skills under the close watch of veteran industry judges.
Tucker advanced to a four-person final before taking the top honor for Wisefly Auto Glass and Northwest Florida. This was not a customer-voted award or a general business recognition. It was a hands-on technical competition designed to identify the professional who could complete the best overall auto glass installation.
Tucker Martin Wins the 2026 Auto Glass Technician Competition
Auto Glass Week 2026 was held August 27 through 29 at the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. Technicians, manufacturers, educators, and other auto glass professionals traveled to the event to learn about new products, discuss changing safety standards, and compete in several skill-based divisions.
Tucker Martin represented Wisefly Auto Glass in the Auto Glass Technician Competition. After the preliminary rounds, he joined Aaron Bradford, Tommy George, and Elias Perez as one of four finalists. Tucker finished the competition with the highest honor and was named its 2026 gold medalist.
Auto Glass Week presents its competitions as an opportunity for top professionals from around the world to compete for the title of “World’s Best.” Winning requires much more than installing a windshield quickly. Judges scrutinize the complete job, from the technician’s initial inspection and preparation through the finished installation and customer handoff.
For a technician from a Northwest Florida auto glass company to finish first in that field is a significant achievement. It places the technical work performed and taught at Wisefly Auto Glass alongside the highest level of professional auto glass installation recognized by the industry.
Why the Auto Glass Week Title Carries So Much Weight
The Auto Glass Technician Competition tests the details that determine whether an installation is professional, safe, and complete. Competitors must demonstrate technical knowledge while protecting the vehicle, selecting and using the proper products, following correct removal and installation procedures, and maintaining a clean work area.
Judging considers the full service experience, including:
- Professional knowledge and recognized credentials
- Vehicle inspection and protection before work begins
- Proper use of tools, adhesives, and installation products
- Safe removal of the existing auto glass
- Correct preparation of the glass and vehicle opening
- Precise placement and installation of the replacement glass
- Safety and cleanliness throughout the job
- Post-installation checks and communication with the customer
A technician can lose ground by overlooking a detail that might be invisible to an untrained observer. The glass must do more than look right from outside the vehicle. The installation process must protect the vehicle, support a secure bond, account for required curing procedures, and leave the customer with accurate instructions.
Windshield Replacement Is Skilled Safety Work
A windshield is part of the vehicle’s safety system, so replacing it correctly requires training and careful procedure. The technician must remove the damaged glass without causing unnecessary damage, prepare the opening, follow the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions, position the new windshield correctly, and observe the required minimum drive-away time.
Modern vehicles can add another layer of responsibility. Cameras and sensors used by advanced driver assistance systems are often mounted near or connected to the windshield. When the windshield is replaced, those systems may require ADAS calibration so features such as lane departure warning, collision avoidance, and adaptive cruise control can interpret their surroundings correctly.
Tucker’s championship recognizes the same habits that matter during a customer’s replacement: disciplined preparation, correct product use, protection of the vehicle, technical accuracy, and attention to the finished result. Those are not details reserved for a competition. They are central to responsible windshield replacement.
What This Award Means for Your Windshield Replacement
Tucker’s win gives Northwest Florida vehicle owners a concrete measure of Wisefly Auto Glass’s technical ability. You do not have to rely only on general promises about quality or experience. A Wisefly Auto Glass technician demonstrated his skills against an international field and earned first place under detailed professional judging.
That expertise matters throughout the replacement process. A properly trained technician knows how to inspect the vehicle before beginning, protect painted and interior surfaces, prepare the glass opening, follow the adhesive system’s requirements, and check the completed installation. The technician must also know when a vehicle requires ADAS calibration and how the service affects the time before the vehicle can be safely driven.
At Wisefly Auto Glass, we back our replacement work with a warranty against defects and leaks. We also offer insurance claims assistance, helping customers confirm coverage and coordinate qualifying service with their providers. Mobile and in-shop options make that technical expertise accessible without reducing the standards applied to the work.
